Elijah is a great name. Not only was the historical Elijah a Champion for the Lord, but the name also comes from two of my favorite Hebrew words. The last portion, as you can see, is the first part of Yahweh's name, "Jah". The first part of the name comes from El, the Hebrew word that means "God". The name means "Yahweh is my God: Spiritual Champion"
"And Elijah took twelve stones, for each of the twelve tribes of Jacob, unto whom the word of Yahweh came, saying, "Israel shall be thy name": And with the stones, Elijah built an altar in the name of Yahweh."
1 Kings 18:31
